Sheilagh McNamara, was the CEO of a large corporate consultancy in Australia, for 15 years. During this time she studied natural therapies, behavioral change psychology, Neuro Linguistic Programming and recently attained a masters degree in Metaphysics.
In 2010 she could no longer ignore the awareness that a new life direction was awaiting for her; unaware of what it was, she felt strongly that she should take some time out and travel abroad. In December 2010, her travels led her to Dharamsala India, where she attended teachings with His Holiness The Dalai Lama. During these teachings, she was fortunate to meet Ven. Ngawang Woeber and Migmar Tsering, where they made her fully aware of the plight of the Tibetan people.
It was during this time that she experienced the consciousness change she had been searching for and has since decided to dedicate her support not only to the Tibetan people, but to assist as many people as she can in creating a ‘meaningful’ life.
On 12th December 2010, Sheilagh became a committee member of Ratna Tara Trust, where she offers her business and life experience to the growth and success of supporting the foundation’s goal – ‘that all Tibetan students should have equal opportunity to attain a higher education, and thus, attaining self-respect and new hope for a positive future’.
Sheilagh’s passion in life is twofold;
one – continual learning, especially anything in the area that enhances our human experience; she believes that once you stop learning you stop growing; and
two – to give back; to help enhance the lives of as many human beings as she can, and help them realize that their greatest human potential, has been within them all along.
